  • Crickets.....

Complete stillness for the past 2 months. Wait, two months, did I just hear that correctly? Dang!

    In the past two months:

I've been to Okinawa (one of the islands south of Japan) to see my brother who is in the Marine Corp.

I've taken on more teaching jobs. I love my students... teaching? Not so much. My students range from the age of 18 months in the preschool class, to 70-80 years old in a class of business professionals. This is my youngest student and she is absolutely precious.

I've seen some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen and possibly ever will see....

I haven't been too busy to write.  I have however, felt completely stopped up. Unable to get the words out. I tried desperately to process all the confusing emotions that come with adjusting to a new country on the other side of the world.... I went into survival mode. You all know what that's like. I didn't want to come here and sound needy, but I'll admit, I have been.

Now spring is here... finally, after an unusually long hard winter here in the land of the sun. The warm breeze and thousands of pastel blooms on thousands of plum and cherry blossom trees that are simply EVERYWHERE are all working to make me feel alive again.

Plus, the other day a dear friend of mine messaged me on facebook and told me she missed my blog.

I'll try to come back with pictures and stories and my darn processing before another 2 months go by!

    My precious Emma-chann.

(Chann is a title for "child". All children here in Japan are referred too as _____chann. Pronounced "chon" with a short o sound.)

    I am Happy to see you post again. Loved these pictures...I'm sure they don't do justice for how beautiful it really is there. It's nice to see and hear about the other side of the world. What an adventure! {Even though I'm sure it's Very tough at times!}
Your little Emma is getting so big. What a doll. And your little student...adorable!

    Enjoy your weekend. =)

7 Comments! I didn't expect to get any comments because I've been gone so long! So thanks for stopping by and being so sweet!

@Elizabethmarie_1 - It's true... the pictures can't do justice because they don't capture the smells and the difference in culture - or experience I guess. I thrive on adventure so even though it's not all cherry blossoms and sunny days, I am at a good place in life.

@mlt10202002 - Isn't that just the cutest? Chann... I really adore that. My students have a title for me that means teacher... but it's just that cute.

@wannabemommie10 - And I can't wait to be in touch with all your new mommy updates! :)) It makes me soooo happy for you. Sigh.
@Cluesy - I know you understand change so well... and guess what, we're hitting our rainy season soon! Lol.

@loaine - Thank you! My brother is like my best friend and a lot of prayers were answered when I got to be able to go see him!

@mytoesareblue - Whats in the heart... I've missed hearing about what's on everyone's hearts... I have a lot to catch up on here! You are so sweet to share the excitement for my journey... I love hearing about yours as well.
@appalolly - I think your blog is one of the only ones I would sometimes read in the past two months because you so conveniently post them to facebook. Man, I just don't have the guts to have my blog on facebook! I guess there are too many people from the past whose judgements I still allow to bother me. Love your posts!

Funny thing here...Like just 2 days ago, when I was thinking of what I would post on xanga and thinking of who all aare my friends and wondering how everyone was and why I hadn't seen anything for awhile from several people, YOU included, and BANG! HERE you finally are! Your photos are gorgeous...so much beauty and I love whatever little extra touch you give them. Your little girl is such a doll baby. So is your little Japanese girl. It's great that you got to see your brother! I remember when my little brother went into the Navy and was over there in the far east...oy vey, I was convinced I'd never ever see him alive again. I hope you keep posting. After reading some of your older posts, I really feel a connection and want you to know that I care very much about goes on with you over there!

  • Richgem

P.S>, I'd like to connect on Facebook, also! But I never know how to do that! I'm friends with Janel Andrew, Audrey Miller, Liz Nye...

  • MartinTreehouse

how did I miss this??? I think I may be too busy!!! Darn it!!! I love you...If there are any of my friends that I really wish I could truly get to know inside and out, it would be you! I hope that doesn't sound weird or creepy...

  • MartinTreehouse

@The_Carpers - I just feel deeply honored by that comment... I'm just afraid I'd be a big let down! I have a feeling we'll get to know each other a lot better in the future... these things, separated by so many miles, they require a lot of patience.
